I keep being amazed by how far a modest gear: Canon 7D mark ii (bought in 2018), and some second-hand lenses can take you. It really is not about how expensive the equipment is!

To a curious mind observing life in its pure, raw simplicity, it’s enough to wonder around the countryside and you’re guaranteed to trip over plenty of unique topics to film. There are annual rhythms and patterns to notice. Sometimes we see something that’s “always been there” but we don’t know how it was done. As a photographer with a news background I feel compelled to tell the untold stories the best way I possibly can.
The “Stooks” short video was an enthusiastic adventure and to my joy it was well received. It is still one of my all time favourites!

I’ve been creating the “behind the scenes” short videos just for fun for many years. Some are featured in painting section, too. Merging time-lapses, still images, carefully chosen music to amplify the excitement – this is without a doubt video editing I love the most. Hopefully it emphasises the efforts that go into all the details, time, techniques much better than any words could do, and it’s fun to watch, too!
The NeverEnding Story was a great artistic collaboration between three UK artists, one of them being me. We loved every moment. Did I say – it was all EDIBLE?
Here is a set of ten short poetry films based on a book UNNOTICED SOUTH MOLTON, written by local beloved personality Richard Westcott. Overall run time is 27 mins and it will play for you automatically.
Richard first asked if I would try to turn his Gargoyle poem into a short film back in 2021. This has proven to be such a lovely, fun and inspiring collaboration, we kept going for another year and ended with this set! It was premiered at the Assembly Rooms to a wonderful audience and together we raised a little bit of money towards Richard’s chosen charity – the The Samaritans.
Every single one of these poems could be talked about a lot. Whilst I use the visual language to illustrate the words, our national award winning author is always happy to add the true historical contexts to each – such wonderful stuff.
